The Sportster 1200 is surprisingly compact, low, and ... even subtle.
The engine cylinders, chain and belt covers are chrome-plated - the frame and the rocker are pulverized in black but are shiny. In addition, some paint on fenders, oil tank covers - in two words: pure minimalism.
Of course, as for Harley, Sportster XL1200 Custom has several "flavors". On absolutely every element we can find the Harley logo or at least an inscription. This is the case with the front tire, with the powerful Harley-Davidson. The chrome-plated fork and a single reflector with a diameter of only 20 cm perfectly harmonize with the sporty figure. In addition, a simple Drag Bar steering wheel and a set of indicators consisting of a speedometer and a tachometer.
A drop shaped tank is the essence of a custom cruiser, the saddle is perhaps not wide (especially its back section), but people with standard dimensions will feel comfortable. Also because Custom has very far backed footrests.
To sum up: It is minimalist, even restrained, fortunately, neatly and consistently. Despite the lack of fireworks on the street, we will definitely be noticed, because Sportster is impressive.
After 2000, Harley-Davidson fights for opinion about quality and reliability. Particularly in the matter of the vibrating elements, there has been a large progress. The condition of our Sportster 1200 has shown that after a distance of over 20,000 km, the motorcycle works like a new one, does not fail and with proper maintenance, it will serve for many years while maintaining its timeless character.
